This interactive story time is sure to keep the little ones entertained!

We will read a PJ Library book and create an art project based on the story. Receive $2 off admission when you RSVP in advance. Admission must be paid upon entry to the museum.

Sunday, January 7 - Open Art Studio: Paddington Puppets (12:30-4:30pm)

Join us on January 7th in our Art Studio as we create our own adorable Paddington puppets! Take your new companion home with you just in time to see Paddington 2 out on January 12th! Participants will also receive promotional items and passes to see the film in theaters!*

Sunday, January 14 – Dreaming our Way to a Better World! (2-4pm)

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. shared his dream for a better world. In remembrance of his legacy, join us as we create art inspired by our own dreams and wishes for a better world and a bright future!

Sunday, January 21 – Tizmoret A Cappella!(starts at 3pm)

Tizmoret is the award-winning Jewish a cappella group from the Queens College Hillel in New York City! Performing English pop hits, Jewish melodies, and contemporary Israeli songs with nothing but their voices as instruments, Tizmoret loves to share their music with audiences of all ages!

Sunday, January 28 – Museum Free-For-All (Free Museum Admission) (12:30-4pm)

The Zimmer is proud to participate in SoCal Museums’ 2018 Free-For-All day. Dozens of museums— presenting art, cultural heritage, natural history, and science—will open their doors and invite visitors to attend their museums free of charge. Museums Free-for- All is partnering with Metro, encouraging visitors to Go Metro to explore participating museums, many of which are a short walk from Metro bus or rail stops. Experience a day of art and culture without traffic and plan ahead of time on metro.net.

Please note that the Zimmer Children’s Museum anticipates busier attendance than usual. We encourage you to plan accordingly for limited parking, possible lines, and large crowds.


Sunday, February 4 – Rosa Parks Day 2-4pm

Today we celebrate Rosa Parks, born on this date in 1913. After a hard day of work on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks stood up to segregation and inequality by not giving up her seat on the bus. Join us in our Art Studio as we honor and celebrate her bravery and life-long commitment to fight injustice.

Sunday, February 11 – Celebrate Mardi Gras! 2-4pm

Join us as we embrace the spirit of New Orleans in our kid-friendly Mardi Gras celebration! We’ll learn about the importance of the Mardi Gras colors and symbols, decorate festive masks and more!

Sunday, February 18 – Welcome the Year of the Dog! 2-4pm

Xin Nián Kuài Lè! Chúc Mung Nam Moi! Join us for Lunar New Year themed arts and crafts as we welcome The Year of the Dog. This year, the Lunar New Year begins on February 16, and according to the Chinese Zodiac, the Dog is known to be honest and loyal!

Sunday, February 25 – Make your own puppet! 2-4pm(2-4pm)

Today in our Art Studio, we will create our own colorful, fun and wacky puppets! Who will be your new puppet pal?
