Sumiha Akiyama Math, Sensei
Martial Arts have always been an integral part of Sumiha’s life, since her Father is a Shorinji Kempo branch Master in Japan. She began “official” lessons in Shorinji Kempo at the age of three. By the age of eleven, she had participated and won many competitions and was awarded a Black Belt, then 2-dan degree. With these achievements, she became an assistant teacher at the school, specializing in groups of young children. She also was the director and teacher of the summer camp programs. Today, as the Mother of two young children, she is acutely aware of the merits of these classes and the special delight in “working” with young children. She knows that her training in martial arts as a child and young adult has helped her live an interesting, productive life, attending school in New Zealand, Italy, graduating college in Switzerland and France. She sincerely wants to have the privilege of teaching your children these good lessons, which result in happy, self-confident boys and girls. |
